A reliable way to fine-tune airflow in duct systems
We’ve supplied a lot of volume control dampers over the years, and they remain one of the simplest yet most effective ways to balance airflow in ventilation systems. Whether it’s a new installation or an adjustment to an existing setup, these dampers make it easy to regulate air volume to different zones without having to redesign duct runs.
Available in a wide range of diameters from 100mm up to 800mm, these are suitable for everything from small commercial ducting needs to large-scale extraction systems.
These dampers are fitted with aerofoil-shaped blades, designed for use in low to medium air velocities. That means they can be used in most supply and extract duct systems without creating excessive noise or turbulence.
The blades are mounted inside a galvanised steel casing as standard, but we can also supply stainless steel versions for more demanding environments, such as food production or areas with higher moisture levels.
Key points from our experience:
We stock these dampers in:
100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 160mm, 200mm, 224mm, 250mm, 300mm, 315mm, 350mm, 400mm, 450mm, 500mm, 560mm, 600mm, 630mm, 710mm, and 800mm.
If you’re not sure which size will fit your duct run, we’re happy to help match it up.
Volume control dampers are used in all sorts of applications – offices, workshops, factories, commercial kitchens, even dust extraction systems. One recent job involved fitting multiple dampers in a manufacturing plant so the maintenance team could fine-tune airflow to individual workstations instead of having a single “one speed fits all” setup. It cut down on wasted energy and improved comfort for the staff.
