We’ve found that when it comes to gas safety, customers don’t just need valves, they need reliability. Banico’s gas solenoid valves tick that box cleanly. These normally-closed, two-way valves are available in a range of common sizes, ¾”, 1″, 1¼″, 1½″, and 2″ BSP, and are designed to swiftly cut gas flow in an emergency or as part of an interlock system.
All versions use a 230 VAC coil and shut off in under one second once power is cut, making them a dependable choice for kitchens, boiler interlocks, and commercial catering setups.
Built tough, designed for safety
These valves are built to last. Here’s why:
- Fast response: Opens and closes in under a second.
- Sturdy materials: Die-cast aluminum body, AISI 302 steel spring, steel armature, and NBR seals that resist hydrocarbons.
- In-line filtration: Built-in AISI 303 steel mesh filter stops debris from entering.
- IP54 rating: Offers protection against dust and splashes, suitable for kitchen and boiler room environments.
- Standards certified: Meets BS EN 161:2002/2013 , British Gas, EU, and CE approvals.
Versatile for multiple gases and system sizes
Banico valves handle natural gas, propane, and LPG, and fit seamlessly into pipework from ¾″ to 2″ BSP. They include ¼″ plugs for pressure gauges, CPI switches, and interlock systems for easy integration. Maximum operating pressure is around 360 mbar, and they can cycle up to 20 times per minute without issue.
The range covers both standard and automatic-reset variants like ZEV25 (1″), ZEV32 (1¼″), ZEV40 (1½″), and ZEV50 (2″), all consistent in build quality and operation.
Practical tips from our installs
- Orientation matters: Install with the body mounted ±90° from vertical axis for reliable operation.
- Use the plugs provided, for CPI, testing, or gauge ports.
- IP54 is good, but not waterproof, don’t use where components are submerged.
- Keep coils cool: Coils run around 70 °C; give them space to ventilate.
Which size suits your setup?
- ¾″ (ZEV20) – Small appliances and compact installations.
- 1″ (ZEV25) – Boilers, kitchen interlocks, widely used.
- 1¼″ (ZEV32) – Mid-size catering or central heating systems.
- 1½″ (ZEV40) – Larger commercial kitchens or gas feed lines.
- 2″ (ZEV50) – Heavier industrial applications or large manifolds.
