FAQ

What is a concentric reducer?

A concentric reducer is a galvanised adapter aimed to change the diameters within a ducting system. Thye can be used to increase or reduce diameters.

What is the overall height of the concentric reducers?

This can vary depending on the diameter. If a specific height is required due to limited space, please contact the team so we can get a bespoke product made.

What material is a concentric reducer fabricated from?

All metal concentric reducers listed on our shop are made out of galvanised steel. However, we are able to provide this in stainless steel. The most common grades of stainless steel are 304 and 316 grade, and these are made to order. Please contact the team to discuss your requirements further.

If I use a concentric reducer, could this affect the airflow within the duct?

Yes, depending on how your system has been designed and installed a concentric reducer can affect your airflow and noise levels. Reducing can also create back pressure for your fan.

How do I connect this to another fitting?

You would require a female connection piece to connect to another fitting. For fastening without the need for any pre-drilled holes, we advise our customers to use self-drill screws. Once you have decided on a method of fastening the duct work together, you'll need a sealant. We would advise using duct sealant, which is a water-based sealant and will provide a permanent seal whilst withstanding a reasonable amount of vibration. You could also use cloth tape or foil duct tape. Please see our ''How To'' video - How to connect spiral ducting.
