What is a curved boot?

A curved boot is a type of fitting to create a branched connection at a 90 degree angle into the main ductwork.

How would you install the curved boot?

Firstly, you would take the curved boot and line it up to the ductwork where you are wanting to install. You will then draw around the boot whilst this is in place, then take the boot off and draw an outline an inch smaller than the first to ensure it doesn't fall back into the ductwork after installation. You then have to take a drill and create a hole, and we would recommend using a jigsaw to cut the opening for the curved boot. After this has been completed, you will then use duct sealant to seal around the boot, and use some self-drilling screws for optimum security.

What material is a curved boot fabricated from?

All metal curved boots listed on our shop are made out of galvanised steel. However, we are able to provide this in stainless steel. The most common grades of stainless steel are 304 and 316 grade, and these are made to order. Please contact the team to discuss your requirements further.
