Spiral ducting is sized on the inside diameter of the duct. All corresponding fittings are made to fit this size.
Spiral ducting has large ends, which we refer to these large ends as ''female'' therefore, you can connect two lengths of spiral together by using a male connection piece. These two parts would need to be secured together by using self-drill screws and duct sealant. As long as your connection piece has the same diameter as your duct, they’ll connect up to create part of your duct system. Fittings will fit directly into spiral. Please see our ''How To'' video - How to connect spiral ducting.
All spiral listed on our shop are made out of galvanised steel. However, we are able to provide this in stainless steel. The most common grades of stainless steel are 304 and 316 grade, and this is made to order. Please contact the team to discuss your requirements further.
Ducting can be easily cut to your required size using a hacksaw, small angle grinder or jigsaw.
An inadequately bracketed system can be extremely dangerous. We recommend having at least one bracket every 2 meters. Split clips or Suspension Clips (single hangers) are the products you would use for this.
For fastening without the need for any pre-drilled holes, we advise our customers to use self-drill screws. Once you have decided on a method of fastening the duct work together, you'll need a sealant. We would advise using duct sealant, which is a water-based sealant and will provide a permanent seal whilst withstanding a reasonable amount of vibration. You could also use cloth tape or foil duct tape. Please see our ''How To'' video - How to connect spiral ducting.
